Privacy Notice (PDPA)
How we handle your personal data under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
This Privacy Notice explains how Kokrue Consulting (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). By contacting us or submitting your details, you consent to the handling of your personal data as described below.
What data we collect
- Contact details you give us, name, phone number and any message you send (via the website form, WhatsApp, calls or in person).
- Information you choose to share during a consultation, such as your financial situation, needs and goals.
- Basic technical data your browser sends automatically when you visit the site.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation.
- To provide financial planning guidance and recommend suitable insurance and savings solutions.
- To arrange, submit and service applications with the insurance principal and product providers we represent.
- To keep in touch about your plan and meet our legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations.
Who we may share it with
We keep your data confidential and only share it where needed to serve you or meet our obligations, for example with our principal insurer, Hong Leong Assurance Berhad 198201014849 (94613-X) (a member of PIDM), and the product providers whose products you apply for; our authorised service providers; and regulators or authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal data.
How we protect and keep it
We take reasonable steps to keep your data secure and retain it only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law.
Website analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website, for example which pages are read and which contact buttons (WhatsApp, phone or the enquiry form) are tapped. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects technical data such as your device type, browser, approximate location (city level) and the pages you visit. When you tap a contact button, we record which button and page it was, and the town if you typed one into our “Where are you based?” checker. We never send your name, phone number or message to Google Analytics. Messages you send us on WhatsApp are handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy.
Some pages include YouTube videos. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play; the video then plays from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) under Google’s privacy policy.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The website works normally either way.
Your rights
Under the PDPA you may request access to, or correction of, your personal data, and you may withdraw your consent to our use of it (this may affect our ability to serve you). To make a request, contact us at +60 19-512 6037 (WhatsApp).
